2. Amending Standing Orders: Private Bills
Business Managers agreed to consider a revised draft of the proposed Standing Orders at a future Business Committee meeting, after which the Secretariat would prepare a report to be laid before the Assembly.
2(i) Introduction of Private Bills (SO 26A.1 - 26A.14)
Business Managers considered the alternative approaches to proposed Standing Order 26A.6 outlined by officials.
Business Managers noted that determining fees would be a matter for the Assembly Commission.
Business Managers also noted how proposed Standing Order 26A.13 set broad requirements in terms of publishing and publicising the notice.
Business Managers agreed in principle to proposed Standing Orders 26A.1 - 26A.14.
2(ii) Objection Period (SO 26A.15 - 26A.24)
Business Managers agreed in principle to the proposed Standing Orders 26A.15 – 26A.24.
2(iii) Private Bill Committees (SO 26A.25 - 26A.36)
Business Managers noted that proposed Standing Order 26.31 sets a requirement that members of a Private Bill Committee undergo training.

2(iv) Initial Consideration (SO 26A.37 - 26A.44)
Business Managers sought clarification on how the issues that would be considered at Initial Consideration differed from those that the Presiding Officer would take into account in giving permission for the Bill to be laid.
